Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
